Your diet should be balanced with carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and fiber to keep you healthy and fit. 
A healthy diet is nothing but a diet that contains all of six important nutrients that are carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Therefore, before adopting any diet it important to make sure that it is balanced with these six important nutrients. Since,
Carbohydrates – These are the rich source of energy and help us in remaining healthy and active. Therefore, including some good source of carbohydrates like bread, cereals, rice and potatoes is necessary to get energy.
Proteins – Proteins are very important for the growth of body as well as to repair cells and tissues. Cheese, poultry food, seafood, milk, nuts and yogurts are good source of protein to have into diet.
Fats – Fats also source to have energy but it is important to have them in moderation. Oil, cheese, meats and cream are some of the good sources of fat.
Vitamins – Vitamins are important for the body to help it in performing all its tasks properly. Variety of fruits and vegetables are good option to get various kinds of vitamins.
Minerals – Minerals like iron, iodine, calcium, sodium are important for many functions in the body. Iodine found in salt and fruits and vegetables are good to have iron. Dairy products are good to have calcium.

Fibers – These are important for the digestion and to make a person full for longer. Again, fruits and vegetables are rich source to have fibers. So, make sure you have lots of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
